Audited financial statements preparation UAE companies can finish faster

Many UAE companies need audited accounts: free zone authorities often require them at licence renewal, banks ask for them, and corporate tax rules require them in some cases. Audits drag when the trial balance is not final, bank accounts do not reconcile and every sample request means a hunt for paper. HelloBooks gets you to a clean trial balance with documents attached, so the auditor's time goes on the audit itself.

How the HelloBooks AI agent handles it

You ask in plain English, the AI does the bookkeeping work, and you or your accountant approve the result.

  • You ask: “Prepare the auditor's list: final trial balance, bank reconciliations at 31 December, fixed asset register, and ageing reports.”
  • The AI agent: The AI generates the year-end reports, confirms every bank account reconciles to the statement balance, lists unreconciled items and journals posted after year end, and links each balance to its supporting schedule.
  • You review: Your accountant posts year-end adjustments, the director reviews the trial balance, and the auditor tests and forms their own opinion.

When audited statements are required

For corporate tax, taxable persons with revenue above AED 50 million in a tax period, and qualifying free zone persons, must prepare audited financial statements. Free zone authorities and lenders may also require audits below that level, so check your licence conditions.

Corporate tax records must be kept for seven years after the tax period ends, which includes the audited statements and the working papers you give the auditor.

What auditors ask for, and where it lives

Auditors send a list of items they need from you. Most of it is a report or a document already in HelloBooks.

  • Trial balance and general ledger detail, exported to Excel
  • Bank reconciliations and year-end statements
  • Receivables and payables ageing with subsequent receipts
  • Fixed asset register and depreciation schedule
  • Invoices, bills and contracts for sampled transactions
  • Audit log showing post-close changes

Worked example: a free zone trading company

A Dubai Airport Free Zone company with revenue of AED 14 million closes its year on 31 December. By 15 January the AI has matched all bank lines, and the accountant posts accruals of AED 86,000 and depreciation of AED 41,500. The trial balance is locked on 20 January and exported for the auditor.

The auditor samples 40 sales invoices and 35 purchase bills. Each opens with its document attached, and the team answers the full sample in one afternoon. Accounting firms that prepare clients for audit can ask about custom audit schedules at /book-a-demo.
