Who is the HelloBooks IT partner track for?
IT services companies, software agencies, system integrators, ERP implementers, SaaS companies and freelance developers who build software on HelloBooks for their clients or customers.
Do I need to apply to use the HelloBooks API?
No. Anyone with a HelloBooks account can sign in to the Developer Portal and create an API key for their own company. Apply when you are building for clients and want to work with our team.
How do my clients give my integration access?
Each client authorizes access to its own company. For a one-off project the client can create an API key for their company; if you build a product that many HelloBooks customers connect to, register an app and use OAuth. A key reaches only the company and entity it was created for.
Is there a sandbox to build in?
Yes. The Developer Portal gives you up to three practice companies with realistic Indian accounting data, such as GST invoices, bills and inventory, so you can build and test without touching a client’s live books.
Is this the same as the HelloBooks Partner Program?
No. The Partner Program is for accountants, CAs, CPAs and bookkeepers who bring clients to HelloBooks. The IT partner track is for companies that build software on HelloBooks.
