1. INTRODUCTION

This Cookie Policy explains how Meru Technosoft ("HelloBooks," "we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit the HelloBooks.ai website or any subdomain (the "Site") and when you access the HelloBooks web or mobile apps (the "Service"). Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.

Scope. Cookies are a browser technology, so this Policy describes the hellobooks.ai website and the HelloBooks web app. The HelloBooks mobile apps (iOS and Android) do not use browser cookies and contain no advertising SDKs — they use a device token for push notifications and analytics identifiers from the providers listed in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy. HelloBooks does not track you across other companies' apps or websites; see Section 2.7 of the Privacy Policy.

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files placed on your browser when you load a website. They store information that helps the site remember your preferences or recognise your browser on a later visit. On the website we also use local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, and JavaScript SDKs; for simplicity we refer to all of these as "cookies" below, and Section 5 describes the non-cookie technologies individually.

3. HOW AND WHY WE USE COOKIES

Strictly Necessary cookies

Purpose — Power core functions such as page navigation, secure login sessions, CSRF protection, and subscription management.

Examples — token.

Retention — These expire when you log out or close the browser, though some may persist for up to one year to maintain settings.

Analytics & Performance cookies

Purpose — Collect aggregated statistics about how visitors use the Site, so we can improve speed, navigation, and new features. This is first-party analytics: it measures our own pages only, and it is not used to build advertising profiles or to link you to data collected by other companies' apps or websites.

Examples — Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_<container-id>) loaded through Google Tag Manager, and Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) for aggregated usage analytics and session replay of our own pages.

Retention — Typically between 24 hours and two years, depending on the cookie; some reset on each visit.

Advertising & Campaign Measurement cookies

Purpose — Measure how our own advertising campaigns perform (for example, which ad led to a signup) and show HelloBooks ads to people who have already visited the Site. These run on the hellobooks.ai website only. They are not present in the HelloBooks mobile apps, and we do not use them on any data collected inside the apps.

Examples — Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags (_gcl_au, plus the gclid / gbraid / wbraid click identifiers carried on ad links) and Taboola retargeting, both loaded through Google Tag Manager.

Retention — Typically up to 90 days for click identifiers and up to two years for campaign cookies.

Third Party Integration cookies

Purpose — Enable embedded services such as bank feed authentication, payment checkout, and AI features.

Examples — Plaid Link (bank connections), Stripe and Razorpay checkout, HelloGrowthCRM demo scheduling, Google reCAPTCHA, and the OpenAI usage token.

Retention — Set and controlled by each provider; durations vary.

4. THIRD PARTY COOKIES

Our partners may place cookies when their services appear on our Site — currently Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads), Microsoft (Clarity), Taboola, Stripe, Razorpay, Plaid, HelloGrowthCRM, and OpenAI. Each partner's cookies are governed by its own privacy and cookie policies. This section describes the hellobooks.ai website; the HelloBooks mobile apps do not load third-party browser cookies or advertising SDKs.

5. OTHER TECHNOLOGIES WE USE

On the hellobooks.ai website and in our marketing emails we also use:

• Local Storage to cache interface preferences for faster loading;
• Session Storage to remember temporary state while a page is open;
• Pixels and tags in our marketing emails, to measure whether an email was opened;
• Pixels and tags on our website pages, to measure how our own advertising campaigns perform (see "Advertising & Campaign Measurement cookies" above).

These measure our own emails, pages and campaigns. They are not used to link you to data collected by other companies' apps or websites, and none of them is present in the HelloBooks mobile apps. They can be cleared via your browser or email settings.

6. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will display a prominent notice (e.g., cookie banner update or email). The "Effective Date" above reflects the latest revision.
