A QuickBooks white-label alternative for firms building a brand

QuickBooks Online Accountant and the ProAdvisor program give firms tools and discounted pricing, but the software clients use remains QuickBooks-branded. There is no white-label edition. Firms that want clients to sign in to their own branded bookkeeping product need a different arrangement, and HelloBooks offers one through its White-Label License.

What QuickBooks offers accounting firms

Through ProAdvisor preferred pricing, firms can receive a discount on client subscriptions when the firm is the one billed. QuickBooks Online Accountant provides a console for managing client files. Clients see and use the QuickBooks brand throughout, and Intuit does not offer a version under the firm’s name.

For many practices this is a perfectly good setup. QuickBooks has broad recognition, a deep integration ecosystem and a large pool of trained staff. If your clients expect QuickBooks by name, or your firm has built processes around it, staying makes a lot of sense.

Putting your name on the ledger with HelloBooks

The HelloBooks White-Label License brands the full bookkeeping product with your app name, logo, colors, sign-in page and document templates. Clients use AI categorization, bank reconciliation, invoicing, bills and reports inside software they know as yours. The firm console gives your team a single view of every client’s close.

Firms begin on a hellobooks.ai subdomain from the first day. At full launch, you can use your own domain, and platform email can be sent from it; neither is available today. Firm staff are unlimited under the flat monthly license, so growing your team does not change what you pay HelloBooks.

Billing the client yourself

Under both models the firm can sit between the vendor and the client on billing. With HelloBooks, each client stays on a published plan and your firm receives a discount on every one, then invoices the client under its own terms. The difference is that the product on the client’s screen shows your brand.

Your firm owns client data in HelloBooks and can export it. If you want to explore the model before migrating anyone significant, founding firms are being accepted now and can start with a small group of clients before deciding anything larger.

White-label license pricing

One flat license covers your brand, unlimited staff and the firm console. Your clients stay on published HelloBooks plans, and your firm gets 20% off each one. Founding firms go live first on a firm subdomain; your own domain and email from your domain follow at full launch.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does QuickBooks Online Accountant offer a white-label version?
No. QuickBooks offers ProAdvisor preferred pricing when the firm is billed for client subscriptions, but clients continue to use QuickBooks-branded software. See Intuit’s help article, linked below, for the current terms.
Can HelloBooks import my clients’ existing books?
Moving books between systems takes planning whichever vendors are involved. Talk to HelloBooks during founding-firm onboarding about the clients you want to move, and start with those whose history is simplest to bring across.
Why would a firm choose a branded ledger over a well-known vendor?
Mainly to strengthen the firm’s own brand and client relationship. When clients sign in to software named after your practice, the value they receive is associated with you rather than with a software company.
Do HelloBooks clients pay HelloBooks directly?
In the white-label model, the firm pays HelloBooks for the license and discounted client plans, then bills clients itself. That keeps pricing and the client relationship under your control.
