Jewellery POS showing rate card and weight-based pricing

Jewellery POS is its own discipline — rate cards that change daily, purity-driven pricing, making-charges that vary per design, hallmarking that the regulator demands on the bill. HelloBooks ships the whole flow native, so jewellers can stop bolting it onto a generic till.

HOW IT WORKS

Every detail, dialled in

Built for the till, validated against the canonical accounting engine — so every POS sale closes the books cleanly.

💎

Daily rate card per outlet

At shop-open, the manager updates the gold and silver rate per purity (22K / 18K / 14K, sterling). The till multiplies live by net weight; the customer sees the calculation on screen and on the receipt.

  • Per-outlet rate card
  • Per-purity rate
  • Live multiplication on cart
  • Receipt shows the rate used
⚖️

Gross / net / tare on every line

Weighing scale streams gross weight; the line records gross, net (after stones), and tare. Making charges, GST, and hallmarking fees layer on top — clean math, customer-facing.

  • Gross / net / tare captured
  • Stone weight deducted
  • Making charges per design
  • Hallmarking fee

Hallmark + HUID on the bill

BIS hallmark + HUID number land on the bill and on the e-invoice. Returns are tied to the HUID; warranty and buyback flows look up by HUID. Regulator-ready, customer-trustable.

  • BIS hallmark on every line
  • HUID printed on receipt
  • HUID-based returns
  • Buyback by HUID

Why teams move off legacy tills

Old POS · Manual workarounds
  • Rate card on a whiteboard
  • Cashier multiplies in head
  • Hallmark missing on receipt
  • Buyback workflow ad-hoc
HelloBooks POS
  • Per-outlet daily rate card
  • Live engine multiplication
  • Hallmark + HUID on receipt
  • Buyback by HUID
FAQ

Questions, answered

Who can change the daily rate?

Outlet manager (or above). The change is audited; cashiers cannot edit rates at the till.

How are making charges configured?

Per design — flat rupee, per gram, or per cent of metal value. Multiple charge components per line are supported.

Does this cover gold-loan or buyback?

Buyback yes — by HUID. Gold-loan is a separate financial product, not POS-driven.

What about wastage on chain-by-the-yard sales?

Per-line wastage percentage is configurable; it adds to the chargeable weight transparently.
