Part of HelloBooks POS · Hardware integrations
Thermal printers should be the boring part of a POS rollout — and with HelloBooks they are. We auto-discover devices over USB, Bluetooth and LAN, render the same receipt template across every brand, and ship dual-language (English + regional script) out of the box.
Every detail, dialled in
Built for the till, validated against the canonical accounting engine — so every POS sale closes the books cleanly.
Discover and pair in under a minute
When you plug in a printer or wake one on the LAN, the terminal auto-detects it via ESC/POS handshakes and offers to pair. No vendor SDKs, no manual IP entry, no “printer offline” dialogs.
- Auto-discovery over USB, Bluetooth and LAN
- Brand-agnostic — Epson, TVS, Bixolon, POSIFLEX, Star
- Falls back gracefully on unknown ESC/POS firmware
- Per-outlet default printer assignment
One receipt template, every device
Logo, GSTIN, HSN per line, e-invoice QR, IRN, payment QR, footer message — designed once, prints identically on every supported printer. Dual-language support means the customer copy can render in Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil or any Devanagari/Indic script.
- 80mm and 58mm widths auto-handled
- GST + e-invoice + IRN baked into the layout
- Hindi / Gujarati / Tamil / English dual-line
- Logo + footer editable per outlet
Reliable under load
A festival-day queue can push 200+ tickets through one printer in an hour. We buffer, retry, and report jam status to the cashier in real time so a paper-out moment becomes a 10-second swap, not a 10-minute crisis.
- Buffered print queue per terminal
- Paper-out / cover-open detection
- Auto-retry on transient failures
- Cashier notification when a printer needs attention
Why teams move off legacy tills
- Vendor-specific drivers per till
- IP changes break printing silently
- Hindi text prints as gibberish
- No retry — failed print = manual reprint
- One pairing flow for every brand
- Auto-rediscovery if the IP shifts
- Native dual-language receipts
- Auto-retry with cashier alerts
Questions, answered
Which printers are supported out of the box?
Anything ESC/POS-compatible — that includes Epson TM series, TVS RP series, Bixolon, POSIFLEX, Star Micronics, Citizen, HPRT and Rongta. If it prints on a generic ESC/POS spec, we drive it.
Can I print receipts in regional languages?
Yes — the receipt template supports dual-line bilingual output. The cashier copy can be in English, the customer copy in Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil or any Indic script.
What if the printer is on Wi-Fi and the IP changes?
We rediscover by mDNS / Bonjour and reattach automatically. The cashier sees no interruption, and the printer entry in settings stays stable.
Does the same template print on a 58mm printer?
Yes — the layout reflows for narrow paper. You do not maintain two templates.
Can I run a dedicated network printer over LAN with a fixed IP?
Yes. A network receipt printer with a static IP is paired over Ethernet and driven directly — useful for a kitchen or back-office printer that no single till owns. If its IP shifts on DHCP we rediscover it automatically.
