Expect questions to come to you
Clients rarely distinguish between a question about their books and a question about the software. They will ask their usual contact how to send an invoice, why a bank feed stopped, or where a report lives. Planning for this avoids the frustration of senior staff fielding basic how-to questions at inconvenient moments.
Decide who handles software questions first. In a small firm, it might be the client’s bookkeeper. In a larger one, a designated support person or shared inbox can triage requests. Either way, make sure clients know where to send questions so nothing gets lost in individual mailboxes.
