Why roles matter in a practice
Different people in a firm need different things from the software. A partner wants a view across every client. A bookkeeper needs to get into the books and work through what is waiting. A seasonal helper may only need to be involved for a few weeks. Adding staff with roles lets the setup reflect those differences rather than giving everyone an identical account.
Roles also support the way firms already think about responsibility. When each person has their own login and a role that matches their position, it is clear who did what. That clarity is useful for reviews, for training juniors and for answering client questions about how an entry came to be. It also makes onboarding a hire quicker, because their role tells them where to start.
