Why bundled fees work for firms
A single monthly fee is easier to sell and easier to renew. Clients compare one number against the value they receive, rather than questioning individual lines. When software is bundled, it stops being a separate cost that clients try to trim and becomes part of a service they see as complete, which makes retention conversations far more comfortable.
Bundling also protects your positioning. A client paying you for “books, software and a monthly review” thinks of your firm as their finance function. A client paying you for bookkeeping and a vendor for software may start to wonder whether they need both, especially during a tight quarter when every subscription is scrutinized. The bundle removes that temptation to unpick the service.
