UAE e-invoicing deadline finder

Pick whether you are a business or a government entity and enter last year's revenue. The finder returns two dates: the last day to appoint an accredited service provider and the day e-invoicing becomes mandatory for you. The dates come from Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025, as amended by Ministerial Resolution No. 66 of 2026. Below we show how the bands work, three examples and the planning steps to put in your calendar.

The phased timeline

The UAE is phasing e-invoicing in by size. Larger businesses go first, smaller ones six months later, and government entities after that. A voluntary pilot opened on 1 July 2026 for businesses that want to start early.

  • Revenue AED 50 million or more: appoint a provider by 30 October 2026 (moved from 31 July 2026 by Ministerial Resolution No. 66 of 2026); go live 1 January 2027
  • Revenue below AED 50 million: appoint a provider by 31 March 2027; go live 1 July 2027
  • Government entities: go live 1 October 2027
  • B2C transactions: excluded until further notice

Three examples

Each of these businesses used the finder in October 2026.

  • A Jebel Ali logistics group with revenue of AED 86 million: its appointment deadline is 30 October 2026, only days away, so it needs a signed provider now and testing under way for 1 January 2027.
  • An Abu Dhabi engineering consultancy with revenue of AED 12.5 million: appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027.
  • A Sharjah café chain selling only to walk-in customers: its B2C sales are excluded for now, but any catering invoices to companies are B2B and fall in the AED 50 million-or-below band.

Planning backwards from your date

Treat the appointment date as the latest point to start, not the target. Integration and testing with a provider take time, and your customer data has to be clean before the first live invoice. A business with a July 2027 go-live date that starts data clean-up in early 2027 is cutting it fine.

Revenue bands can be borderline. If your revenue sits near AED 50 million, confirm with your tax agent which figure and which year the decisions use before you choose a timetable.

  • Now: clean customer TRNs and item lists
  • Three to six months before the appointment date: shortlist and compare providers
  • After appointment: test invoices, credit notes and rejections with the provider
  • Go-live: switch issuing, then reconcile provider records to the ledger each month

What HelloBooks does in the meantime

HelloBooks keeps the invoice history your provider will rely on, with TRNs, line-level VAT and AED tax amounts on each document. The AI agent can tell you your revenue for the last financial year in one question, which is the first input to the finder.

HelloBooks does not send e-invoices or connect to a provider. Your accountant and your chosen provider handle that part, and HelloBooks stays the ledger behind it.
