Four weeks before year end
Get a forecast of taxable income for the year. Run the profit and loss to the end of November, add a realistic December, and apply the obvious add-backs. If the result is close to AED 375,000 or revenue is close to AED 3 million, those thresholds deserve attention now, not in March.
Example: a Dubai events company forecasts revenue of AED 2.9 million. A AED 250,000 contract signed for a January event will be invoiced in December under the client's request. Revenue recognition follows the work, not the invoice date, so the January event belongs to next year whatever the invoice says. Getting that right may keep the company inside small business relief.
- Forecast taxable income and revenue against AED 375,000 and AED 3 million
- Review contracts spanning year end for correct revenue timing
- Check related party charges have been invoiced for the year
- Plan any asset purchases on business grounds, knowing capital costs are not expensed
