Part of HelloBooks POS · Industry verticals
Electronics retail is high-ticket, after-sales-heavy, and warranty-driven — the till has to capture enough metadata for the customer to claim warranty 18 months later from any outlet. HelloBooks bakes serial / IMEI / warranty into the line by default.
Every detail, dialled in
Built for the till, validated against the canonical accounting engine — so every POS sale closes the books cleanly.
Serial / IMEI on every line
For phones, laptops, white goods, and warranty-bearing products, cart-add prompts for the serial. Scan from the box, type if needed; the line resolves to the exact unit.
- Serial / IMEI capture
- Per-unit stock match
- Multi-serial per line for accessories
- Validates against stock
Warranty period on the bill
Warranty months land on the bill at item level (12 / 24 / 36). The customer’s receipt is their warranty proof; the back office can lookup by serial → bill → warranty status.
- Warranty months per item
- Serial → bill lookup
- Warranty period on receipt
- Cross-outlet warranty supported
Brand-driven analytics
Sell-through by brand is a strategic metric for electronics retailers. The reporting engine slices by brand, by category, by outlet — feeding the brand-deal negotiation cycle.
- Sell-through by brand
- Brand-level promo support
- Brand-driven assortment health
- Per-brand replenishment
Why teams move off legacy tills

- Warranty proof = paper card
- Lost card = lost claim

Questions, answered
How are warranty replacements handled?
A return-with-bill against the original serial; a fresh sale issues the replacement serial; the system links them so future support is resolvable.
Can I capture multiple serials per line (e.g. 5 chargers)?
Yes. Multi-serial per line is supported; the line carries them all and they all print on the receipt.
What about extended warranty add-ons?
A line item with its own SKU; tied to the original sale’s serial for future claim resolution.
Does this work with bundles (laptop + accessories)?
Yes — bundles are first-class. Bundle-level discount applies; per-component serials still capture.
