HelloBooks vs Suvit (now Vyapar TaxOne): Replace the data entry and the ledger, or just automate the typing into Tally

Suvit no longer exists as an independent brand. suvit.io now redirects to taxone.vyapar.com — Vyapar acquired Suvit Fintech (announced late November 2025) and rebranded it Vyapar TaxOne in December 2025. Every page carries the notice "Suvit Is Now Vyapar TaxOne".

TaxOne is pre-accounting automation sold to CA firms: collect client documents over WhatsApp, OCR them, map ledgers and push vouchers into Tally. It is not a general ledger — Tally or Vyapar remains the books of account underneath it. Pricing is a single plan at ₹10,000/year plus GST, list ₹20,000, with a 7-day trial and no free tier.

HelloBooks replaces the whole stack instead of automating the typing into it: a cloud double-entry ledger with a Tally 6.2 connector that keeps every voucher number, GSTR-1/3B/9 filed through a GSTN-authorized GSP, e-invoicing and e-way bills — free to start, ₹499/month on Pro.

When to choose HelloBooks

  • You want to stop paying for a Tally licence and a data-entry tool on top of it, and move the books to the cloud instead.
  • You need GSTR-1, 3B and 9 actually filed through a GSTN-authorized GSP, plus e-invoicing and e-way bills, from the same system.
  • You want to keep your CA happy — the Tally 6.2 connector keeps pushing vouchers to Tally, and the import keeps every voucher number.
  • You carry stock and need inventory valuation, GRN and multi-warehouse posting to the ledger, not just cleaner data entry.
  • You want a mobile app and WhatsApp bookkeeping, not a web-only workflow.
  • You want to test on a free plan that is uncapped by turnover in India, rather than a seven-day trial.

When to choose Suvit (now Vyapar TaxOne)

  • You run a CA practice, Tally is non-negotiable for your clients, and the only problem you want solved is manual voucher entry.
  • Chasing clients for documents is the real bottleneck — automated WhatsApp reminders are a genuinely well-built part of TaxOne.
  • Your GST work is reconciliation-heavy and the 30+ validations across GSTR-1, 2A, 2B and IMS map to how you already work.
  • You want to stay inside the Vyapar ecosystem now that TaxOne pushes into Vyapar as well as Tally.
  • A flat ₹10,000/year for unlimited uploads across your whole client book is straightforward practice economics for you.
  • You are an ICAI member and can use the members' discount on the listing.

Frequently asked questions

Is Suvit still available?

Not under that name. Vyapar acquired Suvit Fintech Private Limited — announced in late November 2025 — and rebranded the product Vyapar TaxOne in December 2025. suvit.io now 302-redirects to taxone.vyapar.com, and every page carries the banner "Brand Update: Suvit Is Now Vyapar TaxOne | Same Trust, New Name!". Founder Ankit Virani joined Vyapar as business head. The product continues; the brand does not.

What does Vyapar TaxOne cost?

A single plan at ₹10,000 per year, shown against a struck-through list price of ₹20,000, with GST charged in addition — checked against taxone.vyapar.com/pricing on 28 July 2026. There is a seven-day free trial with no credit card and no free tier. Note that Techjockey lists a two-tier structure (₹10,000 for CAs, ₹12,000 for advocates and accountants) which contradicts the vendor page; the vendor page is authoritative and the listing is likely stale.

Is Vyapar TaxOne accounting software?

Not in the sense of a general ledger. It is a pre-accounting data-entry layer: it collects client documents, extracts the data, maps ledgers and pushes vouchers into Tally or Vyapar. It has no independent chart of accounts, journal or trial balance of its own. That is a design choice rather than a shortcoming — but it means TaxOne is a companion to your books, not the books.

So what does HelloBooks replace that TaxOne does not?

The ledger itself. HelloBooks is a full double-entry accounting system — chart of accounts, journals, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, aged receivables and payables — with the GST engine and the AI in the same product. If you adopt TaxOne, you still need Tally. If you adopt HelloBooks, you do not, though you can keep Tally in the loop via the connector if your CA prefers it.

Does TaxOne actually file GST returns?

Its marketing says "prepare, reconcile, and file GST returns automatically", but nowhere on the site is a GSP or ASP-GSP partner named, and direct GSTN submission is not claimed. The language is consistently about speed of preparation. We have deliberately not asserted either way. What is clearly strong is reconciliation — GSTR-1, 2A, 2B and IMS with 30+ smart validations and eligible-ITC reporting. HelloBooks files GSTR-1, 3B and 9 through Fynamics, a GSTN-authorized GSP.

Does TaxOne do e-invoicing and e-way bills?

Neither is advertised on the product site. The only IRP-related content is an educational blog post explaining how the GST Invoice Registration Portal works, which is not a product claim. This makes sense architecturally — e-invoicing and e-way bills are issuer-side functions for the business raising the invoice, and TaxOne serves practitioners processing client documents. HelloBooks ships both live: IRN and QR generation through the IRP, and e-way bills through the NIC portal.

Can HelloBooks work alongside Tally like TaxOne does?

Yes, in both directions. The Tally 6.2 connector does a one-time import that keeps every voucher number, and then keeps pushing to Tally on an ongoing basis if your chartered accountant still wants the data there. So you can move the day-to-day books to the cloud without forcing your CA off Tally — which is usually the real blocker in an Indian migration.

How much does HelloBooks cost in India?

Free forever with 2,500 AI credits per month and up to two users, and the India free plan is uncapped by turnover. Pro is ₹499/month or ₹4,999/year against a list price of ₹999, with unlimited users, multi-entity, GST filing and e-invoicing, Tally sync, API access, inventory and three-way matching. Business is ₹1,999/month or ₹19,999/year. Launch pricing is rate-locked for twelve months after subscribing.

Which is better for a CA firm managing many clients?

It depends on whether you are keeping Tally. If your entire client book runs on Tally and you only want the typing automated, TaxOne is purpose-built for exactly that and its WhatsApp document-collection workflow is genuinely good. If you want to move clients onto a cloud ledger, the HelloBooks Partner Program is free to join, gives you unlimited clients on one practice dashboard, bulk AI operations across clients, a certified advisor badge and a directory listing — and you earn a wholesale discount from 5% to 20% as your client book grows rather than paying per client.

Does TaxOne have practice management?

There is a contradiction on the vendor's own site worth knowing about. The pricing page states that the Unlimited plan includes practice management, while the homepage and the data-entry feature page label Vyapar TaxOne Chat — the PMS — as "Coming Soon". Ask directly before buying on that basis. HelloBooks has a separate practice management product, HelloCPA, which is live in the US only; India is on the roadmap with a waitlist, and we do not claim otherwise.

What are the known limitations of TaxOne?

From a competitor teardown published in July 2026 — treat it as a claim rather than a neutral fact — bulk upload is capped at roughly ten invoices at a time, handwritten bills and highly varied invoice formats are not covered, automatic vendor-master creation is not published, and there are no MIS dashboards or post-close real-time reporting. Techjockey separately notes there is no mobile app. The independent review corpus is also very thin: one Techjockey review, zero on Capterra, no G2 listing.

Is HelloBooks reviewed more widely?

Honestly, not dramatically — we are a newer product too, and we would rather you tested the free plan than counted reviews on either side. The more useful comparison is capability: a full ledger with GSP filing, e-invoicing, e-way bills, inventory and a mobile app, against a data-entry layer for Tally. Those are verifiable from both products' own documentation.

Can I do bookkeeping over WhatsApp with HelloBooks?

Yes, and it goes beyond document collection. Munimji is a full bookkeeping agent on the official WhatsApp Business API, working in Hindi, English and Hinglish, accepting voice notes, with India data residency. TaxOne uses WhatsApp to send automated reminders chasing clients for documents — a different and genuinely useful job, but a narrower one.

What if I am a business rather than a CA firm?

Then TaxOne is not sold to you — it is a practitioner product, and Vyapar's SMB offering is the separate vyapar.in app. HelloBooks is sold directly to businesses and to CA firms. If you are an Indian SMB currently on Tally and looking at what your CA uses, the relevant comparison is HelloBooks against Tally or Vyapar, not against TaxOne.

How do I migrate from Tally to HelloBooks?

The Tally 6.2 connector does a one-time import that preserves every voucher number, and the chart-of-accounts import uses AI to read your existing CoA, retain account numbers and map intelligently — so there is no re-learning for your team. The migration flow at /migrate includes a dry-run preview and one-click rollback so you can test the cutover before committing. CSV and Excel import work for anything the connector does not cover.

Is HelloBooks secure and compliant for Indian data?

HelloBooks is SOC 2 Type II certified with the report available under NDA through the Trust Center; ISO 27001 is on the compliance roadmap and we do not claim it as certified. Data is AES-256 encrypted at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, MFA is available, hosting is AWS with 99.9% uptime and daily encrypted backups. India DPDP is covered, and the WhatsApp agent runs on the official WhatsApp Business API with India data residency. Sub-processors and residency detail are published at /trust-center.

Migrating from Suvit (now Vyapar TaxOne)?

HelloBooks supports CSV import for chart of accounts, customers, vendors, items, invoices, and bills. For QuickBooks Online, we offer a built-in two-way sync. For other platforms, our migration team can assist with a structured cutover.
