Three jobs the AI takes on
First, categorization: as bank transactions come into a client’s ledger, the AI suggests an account for each, drawing on how that client’s books have been coded before. Second, reconciliation matching: it pairs bank lines with invoices, bills and recorded entries. Third, surfacing: lines it cannot place confidently, or that look unusual for that client, are flagged for a person rather than guessed.
None of these jobs is glamorous, and that is the point. They are the repetitive tasks that fill a junior bookkeeper’s week and delay a close. Handing the first pass to software lets your staff start from a sorted ledger and spend their attention on the items the system has deliberately left for them.
