Best accounting software in UAE: a sourced shortlist for 2026

There is no single best accounting software in the UAE; there is a best fit for your size, VAT position and team. This shortlist covers products we checked on their own websites in October 2026, grouped by type. We include HelloBooks, which is our product, and say where others are stronger. Every claim about another vendor links to that vendor’s page below, and no prices are quoted because they change.

How we judged them

For a UAE business the test is practical. Can it apply 5% VAT and zero-rating line by line? Does it produce figures for the VAT 201 return? Can it handle Arabic documents? Does it work with UAE banks, and how? Is it ready for e-invoicing, which goes live for large businesses on 1 January 2027 and for others on 1 July 2027 through accredited service providers? And how much of the daily bookkeeping does AI actually take off your team?

  • UAE VAT treatments and VAT 201 preparation
  • Arabic support: documents, invoices or full interface
  • Bank connection: live feed or statement upload
  • E-invoicing route under the Ministry of Finance rules
  • Depth of AI help, and what a person still approves

Cloud accounting for small and mid-sized firms

Xero: its UAE pages say it is listed on the FTA’s Tax Accounting Software Register, populates VAT201 forms, creates FTA Audit Files, produces Arabic and English VAT reports, connects to UAE banks including Wio and Alaan, and supports UAE e-invoicing. A strong all-rounder, especially if bank feeds matter.

Zoho Books: its UAE page describes VAT return reports and direct filing with EmaraTax, corporate tax reports, PINT-AE e-invoices exchanged over Peppol, multi-currency, an Arabic language option and the Zia assistant. Zoho describes itself there as an FTA and MoF accredited e-invoicing provider.

QuickBooks Online: its UAE pages describe the 5% rate preset, VAT on invoices and expenses, and AI agents under Intuit Assist, with AI outputs currently in English only and finance AI unavailable when multicurrency is enabled.

HelloBooks: an AI agent records bills in Arabic or English, drafts invoices, matches uploaded bank statements and prepares VAT 201 figures for review. Limits to weigh: no live UAE bank feeds, no full Arabic interface, and it is not an e-invoicing provider. Its strength is how much routine posting the agent does for you.

Desktop tools and regional suites

TallyPrime: Tally’s pages describe bilingual Arabic and English tax invoices, preset VAT codes, multi-currency converted to AED, and uploading the VAT e-Return from inside the software. A good fit for voucher-driven accounts teams.

Odoo: its documented UAE localisation includes preset VAT taxes, reverse charge, a VAT201 report exported for manual submission and a corporate tax report you map yourself. Choose it when you want POS, CRM and stock in one suite.

Daftra: an Arabic-first suite whose UAE pages describe an Arabic-capable interface, POS, HR, VAT and corporate tax features, and which describes itself as an accredited e-invoicing provider. Confirm provider status on the Ministry of Finance lists.

ERP for larger or more complex companies

Oracle NetSuite documents a UAE VAT Report through its International Tax Reports SuiteApp and positions OneWorld for multiple subsidiaries. Sage launched Sage Intacct in the UAE in October 2025 for mid-sized, multi-entity businesses. Microsoft lists Business Central as available in the UAE with partner-built localisation. These suit companies ready for a partner-led implementation.

If you are unsure which group you are in, start from your transaction volume and team. A Dubai consultancy with AED 2 million revenue rarely needs an ERP; a distributor with five entities and three warehouses may. HelloBooks can set up a custom chart of accounts and approval rules for a trial run; book at /book-a-demo.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which accounting software is FTA accredited?
Of the products here, Xero says on its UAE VAT page that it appears on the FTA’s Tax Accounting Software Register. Check the FTA directly for any product you are considering, since vendor pages can lag official lists.
Do I need e-invoicing built into my accounting software?
You need an accredited service provider from the Ministry of Finance list. Some ledgers say they are one; others, including HelloBooks, keep the invoice data and work alongside the provider you appoint.
Which option is best for a small business in Dubai?
If you want bank feeds and built-in e-invoicing, Xero or Zoho Books, per their pages. If you want AI to carry the bookkeeping and read Arabic bills, HelloBooks. If your accountant works in Tally, TallyPrime.
Why is HelloBooks on its own list?
Because it is a real option for UAE businesses and we would rather show it next to alternatives honestly. We have stated its limits alongside its strengths so you can judge.
