How to calculate North Dakota sales tax
Multiply the price by the combined rate. At the 5% state rate, a $250.00 sale carries $12.50 of sales tax, for a total of $262.50. Add the county, city or district rate for the delivery address to get the full rate for that sale.
To find the tax inside a total that already includes it, divide the total by 1 plus the rate. A $107.00 receipt at 5% is $101.90 before tax and $5.10 of tax.
