How to calculate Colorado sales tax
Multiply the price by the combined rate. At the 2.9% state rate, a $250.00 sale carries $7.25 of sales tax, for a total of $257.25. Add the county, city or district rate for the delivery address to get the full rate for that sale.
To find the tax inside a total that already includes it, divide the total by 1 plus the rate. A $107.00 receipt at 2.9% is $103.98 before tax and $3.02 of tax.
