Schedule H/H1/X, batch + expiry, prescription
FEFO batch picking, prescription capture, schedule-drug compliance, near-expiry alerts. Built for retail chemists, hospital pharmacies, and online-pharmacy fulfilment.
Part of HelloBooks POS · Industry verticals
Pharmacy retail is one missed expiry away from a regulatory shutdown. HelloBooks layers FEFO batch picking, schedule-drug capture, and prescription tracking on top of the canonical inventory engine — making compliance a default rather than a chase.
Every detail, dialled in
Built for the till, validated against the canonical accounting engine — so every POS sale closes the books cleanly.
FEFO batch + expiry on the line
Every drug line picks the earliest-expiry batch by default; the batch number and expiry date land on the receipt and the e-invoice. Override only by manager passcode (and audited).
- FEFO automatic
- Batch + expiry on receipt
- Override audited
- Multi-batch line splits
Prescription capture for Schedule H / H1 / X
Schedule-controlled drugs require a prescription on file; the till blocks the sale until the cashier captures the prescriber, prescription number, and date. Photo of prescription optional.
- Per-drug schedule classification
- Prescriber + Rx number capture
- Photo upload optional
- Audit trail per dispense
Near-expiry merchandising
Drugs nearing expiry are flagged at the back office; merchandising can mark down or transfer to a higher-velocity outlet before they expire and have to be wasted.
- Configurable threshold
- Daily near-expiry digest
- Auto-promotion suggestion
- Wastage report on expired
Why teams move off legacy tills
- Batch picked manually
- Schedule-H sale unblocked
- Prescriptions on paper
- Expired stock sold by accident
- FEFO automatic
- Schedule-H sale gated by prescription capture
- Prescription on the bill
- Expired stock prevented from sale
Questions, answered
How is Schedule X handled?
Same as H1 — prescription capture mandatory, plus a register-style audit log the regulator can inspect on demand.
Can I scan the prescription as a photo?
Yes. The photo lands on the bill and is auditable in the back office.
How are GST-exempt drugs handled?
GST is per-item; exempt drugs flow through with 0% as expected. The GSTR-1 HSN summary handles the mix.
Does this work with insurance / TPA claims?
TPA claim flows are roadmap; today the bill carries the necessary fields (prescription, batch, expiry, HSN) for downstream claim processing.
