HelloBooks Warehouse vs Xero — Bins, Waves, Serials Xero has no warehouses or bins. HelloBooks adds multiple warehouses, bins, wave picking, cycle counts and lot and serial tracking, with the plan for each.
Xero is a strong general ledger with simple inventory built in. Its own inventory page describes tracking stock levels and calculating cost of goods sold for up to 4,000 finished items. It treats stock as one pool: there are no warehouses or locations to hold it in.
Running a warehouse needs more than that. No Xero plan includes multiple warehouses, bin locations, wave picking, cross-docking, cycle counts, or lot, batch and serial tracking. Xero's App Store lists third-party warehouse apps for those, each with its own subscription and its own sync into Xero.
HelloBooks keeps warehouse records in the same system as the ledger. Multiple warehouses and lot or batch tracking come with the Business plan; bins, wave picking, cross-docking, cycle counts, serial numbers and FEFO picking come with Scale. This page lists each one and shows which plan includes it.
HelloBooks Warehouse vs Xero
Bins, waves and serial tracking, built in
Xero handles simple stock: up to 4,000 finished items, with no warehouses or locations. Bins, wave picking, cross-docking, cycle counts and lot or serial tracking are not on any Xero plan, so Xero customers add a separate warehouse app. In HelloBooks they are part of the Business and Scale plans.
