Shopify
Turn Shopify orders, fees and payouts into finished books — invoices raised, fees split out, payouts reconciled against the bank.
What this integration does
Connect your Shopify store once and HelloBooks keeps the accounting side current. Orders arrive as sales invoices, Shopify’s fees are separated from revenue rather than buried in a net figure, and each payout is matched against the deposit that lands in your bank.
You decide how Shopify maps to your chart of accounts in a setup wizard before anything posts, and you can change that mapping later without unpicking history. Multi-store merchants can connect more than one store to the same books.
HelloBooks also ships as an embedded Shopify app, so you can work inside the Shopify admin instead of switching tabs.
What data it reads and writes
Written as sentences rather than permission codes. This is the same access you will be asked to approve when you connect.
- Reads
Reads your Shopify orders, products, customers and payout reports.
- Writes
Creates sales invoices in HelloBooks from your orders, and posts Shopify fees and payouts to the accounts you chose.
- Reads and writes
Stores the mapping between Shopify objects and your chart of accounts, so the same order always posts the same way.
