Connect a US bank account and let transactions flow in on their own, ready for AI categorization and reconciliation.
What this integration does
Link your bank through Plaid and HelloBooks receives new transactions as they post, instead of you exporting a statement every month. Balances come across too, so reconciliation has something to reconcile against.
The connection is read-only. HelloBooks can see transactions and balances; it cannot move money, initiate a payment, or change anything at your bank.
You map each connected account to a ledger account once. If your bank forces a periodic re-authorization — many do — HelloBooks tells you and walks you through reconnecting without losing history.
What data it reads and writes
Written as sentences rather than permission codes. This is the same access you will be asked to approve when you connect.

Reads transactions and balances from the bank accounts you choose to connect.

Reads account names and mask digits so you can match each bank account to the right ledger account.

Writes the imported transactions into your HelloBooks books. Nothing is ever written back to your bank.
