AI assistants (MCP)
Let an AI assistant read — and, if you allow it, write — your books through a consent screen you control.
What this integration does
HelloBooks is an OAuth provider, so an AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol can connect to your books the same way any other app would. You are shown a consent screen listing exactly what is being requested, and nothing happens until you approve it.
Access is granted per organisation and per entity, so an assistant you connect for one entity cannot read another. You can decline at the consent screen, and revoke a grant afterwards.
The permissions are separate on purpose. Reading your books and writing to them are two different decisions, and closing an accounting period is a third.
What data it reads and writes
Written as sentences rather than permission codes. This is the same access you will be asked to approve when you connect.

book:read - Writes
Creates and updates records in your books, only if you approve this separately.

Closes an accounting period on your instruction.
